- January 3, 2025
A Thomasville man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts related to the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Colten James Osborne, 28, of Thomasville, has been charged with 10 felony counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
The arrest followed an investigation by the Invictus Task Force, a specialized unit targeting the online distribution of child sexual abuse material. Investigators used CRC technology combined with traditional investigative methods which allowed detectives to identify Osborne as a suspect, leading to his arrest on December 6.
The Invictus Task Force is a multi-agency initiative that includes law enforcement from Randolph, Alamance, Davidson, and Forsyth Counties, along with the State Bureau of Investigation and Homeland Security. The task force focuses on combating internet crimes involving children, including sexual exploitation, trafficking, and abuse.
