CRC Technology Aids in Indictment of Tucson Man on Child Sexual Exploitation Charges
- November 27, 2024
David Berry Garmarnik, 46, of Tucson, was indicted in November 2024 on multiple charges related to child exploitation. He faces 20 counts of Attempted Production of Child Pornography, 20 counts of Attempted Enticement and Coercion of a Minor, and five counts of Receipt of Child Pornography.
The indictment alleges that Garmarnik was involved in live streaming child sexual abuse via Skype, with the abuse occurring in the Philippines. Authorities claim that Garmarnik had been participating in and directing these live-streamed abuse sessions since 2017, helping traffickers exploit children for viewers online.
In response to the case, Mike McGonigle, Programs Consultant for CRC, emphasized the critical role our technology plays in investigating such crimes. “Live streaming offenses often go undetected and are difficult to investigate without specialized tools and training,” McGonigle said. CRC is committed to supporting law enforcement in holding offenders accountable and seeking justice for victims.
