14 Dec One Arrested in Maceió Child Pornography Bust
The Federal Police in Alagoas started on Thursday, March 26, Operation Point-to-Point with the objective of fulfilling five search and seizure warrants at addresses where files containing child pornography were detected in the cities of Maceió and Palmeira dos Indians. One man was arrested.
The investigations indicate that internet users in Alagoas have used file-sharing programs to download photos and videos containing scenes of child pornography, while making these files available to other users.
The warrants aim to seize the illegal files, possibly downloaded, and identify those responsible for these “downloads”. During the execution of the warrants, a man was arrested in flagrante by possessing, in his equipment, archives of videos containing scenes pornographic involving children or adolescents.
Other computers were also seized that will be investigated by the Federal Police in Alagoas.
The Federal Police in Alagoas clarifies that possessing and making available photo and video files containing pornographic scenes of children or adolescents constitute crimes foreseen in the Statute of the Child and Adolescent, with penalties ranging from 1 to 6 years in prison. There will be no collective of press.
