Child Rescue Coalition Expands Global Impact with Training for Law Enforcement in Bavaria

Boca Raton, FL – September 18, 2024 — At the start of 2024, Child Rescue Coalition (CRC) launched a new tiered enforcement approach designed to help law enforcement worldwide maximize the use of its free technology. This initiative aims to arrest as many offenders as possible and, most importantly, protect more children from harm.
The tiered system allows every country to access CRC’s data in a way that aligns with their specific needs and resources. Early pilots in key regions such as Europe and South America have already produced outstanding results, leading to the protection of many children.
“Our tiered approach is helping global law enforcement colleagues to maximize the potential of Child Rescue Coalition’s technology,” said Simon Bailey, Director of Strategic Engagement. “The results in Germany and South America speak for themselves; with their collaboration and partnership, hundreds of children are now protected from the threat of offenders we have helped to identify. We encourage other countries to work with Child Rescue Coalition so that we may safeguard even more children from sexual abuse.”
Europe represents approximately eight of the top ten countries with the highest rates of offending. Over the past nine months, CRC’s internationally-based team and the new tiered approach have contributed to significant progress in addressing this issue.
A breakthrough has been CRC’s close collaboration with German law enforcement and prosecutors since January 2024. This partnership has introduced CRC’s technology into the region, aiding in the critical issue of offender identification. On September 9-10, Child Rescue Coalition’s Director of Core Technology, Tom Farrell, along with the 2024 Investigator of the Year, Cerys Evans from the UK National Crime Agency, provided crucial training to 26 Bavarian police officers in Bavaria, Germany.
“Child Rescue Coalition is deeply grateful to the Bavarian authorities, particularly Stephan Schäl, Marc Heusinger, and Daniel Uhlirsch, for their hard work in making this training possible,” said Tom Farrell, CRC’s Director of Core Technology. “We’ve already seen a significant number of dangerous offenders identified and, most importantly, many children rescued from harmful situations.”
Stephan Schäl, Senior Public Prosecutor for the Bavarian Central Office for the Prosecution of Cybercrime (ZCB), added, “It is essential to use all available means to uncover cases of abuse and to protect children from further harm. CRC technology is a promising tool in this area. The collaboration is efficient and based on trust. The training in Munich was an exciting, insightful, and educational experience for everyone involved. The trainers’ motivation and passion were inspiring for all participants. Our first experiences with CRC technology have already confirmed the value that this tool can and will have for investigations in Bavaria.”
Training sessions like the one in Bavaria are essential to CRC’s mission of protecting innocent children from sexual abuse and exploitation. As a global nonprofit, the team at Child Rescue Coalition understands that child sexual abuse is not confined to one part of the world—it’s a global epidemic requiring a concerted, worldwide effort to combat it.
