- May 28, 2025
Members of the Indiana State Police’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit, with assistance from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, arrested a Washington man for the distribution and possession of CSAM. Chad C. Cooper, a 42-year-old male from Washington, was taken into custody on May 28th.
The investigation was initiated in March 2025 by Indiana State Police Detective, Robert Whyte. Using a combination of investigative techniques—including CRC Technology—Detective Whyte was able to identify Cooper. CRC’s proprietary Technology is provided at no cost to law enforcement agencies worldwide and is used to identify, apprehend, and assist in the prosecution of child predators.
After securing a search warrant for Cooper’s residence, ICAC Task Force members executed the warrant in Washington. The operation involved detectives from the Indiana State Police, forensic examiners from the ISP Digital Forensics Unit, deputies from the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, and troopers from the Jasper District. Multiple electronic and digital media devices were seized during the search.
Cooper was arrested and transported to the Daviess County Jail, where he was booked on the following charges:
- 3 counts of Distribution of CSAM (under the age of 12), a Level 4 Felony
- 2 counts of Possession of CSAM (under the age of 12), a Level 5 Felony
