4 Arrested in Genoa with the use of CRC Technology

December 24, 2024 – As part of its ongoing efforts to protect children, the State Police’s Cyber Security Operations Center of Genoa has successfully completed an operation targeting online child sexual abuse material throughout the Ligurian region. The operation led to the arrest of four individuals, with a fifth person reported at large, all facing various charges related to the production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material.

Following the search warrants by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Genoa, the Cyber Security Operations Center of Genoa, along with provincial sections from Imperia, Savona, and La Spezia, conducted thorough searches.

The arrested individuals, aged between 48 and 69, include two IT professionals, one employee, and two pensioners. The criminal proceedings are still in the preliminary investigation phase, and the suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
