Strengthening Child Protection Through Partnership with UK Law Enforcement
- February 20, 2026
Child Rescue Coalition is proud to be a key partner of the UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) and the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC), working together to strengthen investigations into online child sexual exploitation and safeguard children at risk.
Through the partnership, UK law enforcement is increasing its ability to identify offenders, progress investigations faster, and reduce future harm to children both in the UK and around the world.
In 2025 alone, Child Rescue Coalition trained and provided technology to 120 UK analysts and investigators.
Child Rescue Coalition’s work with the NCA and policing across England and Wales continues to grow through key initiatives including the UK Pilot and Project Mercury.
UK Pilot
Since 2014, police forces across England and Wales, along with the National Crime Agency, have used CRC Technology to identify offenders involved in Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) offenses, support arrests, and safeguard children from abuse.
On 26 January, Child Rescue Coalition launched a pilot program with 7 UK forces, designed to establish a more efficient model for UK usage and accelerate investigative timelines.
During the pilot, participating forces receive CRC Tech Information Reports in near real-time. These reports provide the information needed to progress investigations quickly and effectively, helping reduce delays in identifying offenders and protecting children from harm.
Project Mercury
Project Mercury is a Child Rescue Coalition initiative focused on proactively identifying offenders travelling between two or more countries while in possession of CSAM.
The project aims to provide actionable investigative leads to the appropriate country or countries, support cross-border collaboration, and help determine the most effective approach to locate and arrest offenders. Where possible, Project Mercury also supports the identification of children who may be at risk and need to be rescued and safeguarded.
Committed to Continued Collaboration
Child Rescue Coalition remains committed to supporting the NCA and UK policing through continued collaboration, training, and technology development. Together, we are strengthening the global response to online child sexual exploitation and protecting more children – faster.
