“Personal use only” – suspect arrested

A criminal who claimed he has been accessing child sexual abuse material – images and videos of children being sexually assaulted – for 5 years was taken into custody by police following use of CRC Technology. The man also told officers that he accessed this material “for personal use only”.
The 40-year-old was identified when child protection investigators used our system to identify his approximate location and then legal process to an Internet Service Provider to confirm the exact address.
Officers will also examine devices seized during the arrest to confirm whether evidence of other crimes against children can be found.
Consuming this horrific material causes anguish and suffering to survivors of this crime and we’re thankful that these dedicated law enforcement officers were able to bring this suspect to justice.
