Paraguayan Lawyer Sentenced to 15 Years in Landmark CSAM Case Using CRC Technology

  • July 21, 2025

Prosecutor Diana Gómez secured a 15-year prison sentence for a Paraguayan lawyer convicted of child sexual abuse and possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The conviction stemmed from three consolidated cases, including crimes reported under “Operation Light of Childhood VI,” which identified users sharing CSAM online.

The defendant was found with over 900 CSAM files and linked through digital evidence. During the investigation, his half-sister reported ongoing abuse by him starting when she was 7 years old, with incidents continuing until she was 11, and again from age 15 to 20.

Despite the defense filing over 11 motions to annul the case, the Public Ministry, using documentary, testimonial, expert evidence and CRC Technology, proved his guilt. The court issued the maximum sentence, recognizing the severity of the offenses.

CRC Technology provides the most comprehensive view of where child predators around the world are downloading and sharing explicit content online.

Guido Roa, Child Rescue Coalition Instructor with the Paraguayan National Police, called the case a regional milestone: “Thanks to good instructors and use of CRC Technology, we maintained excellent work. This sets a strong precedent.”

This powerful conviction in Paraguay is just one example of how CRC Technology is helping law enforcement worldwide bring child predators to justice. But we can’t do it without your support.
