Investigators have identified and arrested a criminal with more than 10,000 files of child sexual abuse material – CSAM.

Using CRC Technology officers began an investigation into the sharing of CSAM on the Internet. This operation culminated in the issue of a search and seizure warrant which was served on Wednesday the 24th of August.

Officers found that the 63-year-old suspect had been committing these offenses since at least 2013.

The individual has been arrested and, if convicted, faces a 10-year prison sentence. His electronic devices will also be submitted for additional forensics analysis, a key component of investigations like this.
