MEET CARLY ASHER YOOST OF CHILD RESCUE COALITION
- February 8, 2018
Today we’d like to introduce you to Carly Asher Yoost.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Prior to co-founding Child Rescue Coalition with my sister, Desiree, I served as Co-CEO of TLO, LLC, a data solutions provider founded by our father, Hank Asher, that specialized in investigative and risk management tools and child protection technology. He passed away suddenly in 2013, and we were shattered. He was such a giant figure our lives. I knew that his legacy needed to live on which is why my sister and I retained ownership of the child protection technology needed to start Child Rescue Coalition. Through proactive partnerships with law enforcement and dedicated community partners, Child Rescue Coalition has trained over 10,000 law enforcement officers in all 50 states and in 77 countries on our CPS Technology, successfully aided in the arrest of more than 9,800 child predators and rescued over 2,200 children from sexual abuse. Awareness is vital and in 2016, I was distinguished with a tremendous national honor as the L’Oréal Paris Women of Worth National Honoree. With over 370,000 votes across multiple social media channels (the most votes in the 10 year history of the campaign) this incredible national spotlight served as a powerful catapult to raise the profile of our mission Protecting Innocence Through Technology. The awards presentation took place in New York, which is where I met Blake Lively, Hollywood actress and mother, who now serves as an advocate for Child Rescue Coalition. Today, we have the heightened awareness and platform required to shine a light on just how prolific the issue of child pornography has become globally. There really is strength in numbers and we are closing the gap on reaching our 10,000th arrest. Our commitment to rescuing children from abuse is stronger than ever.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Child sexual abuse and exploitation has reached an epidemic level and the topic of abuse thrives in silence. It’s not an easy topic to discuss, however, we are making a difference by raising the volume on the conversation and empowering law enforcement with the proactive tools needed to arrest predators and rescue more children from abuse. That’s the solution. Like any nonprofit organization, Child Rescue Coalition relies on the generous support of donors to continue to serve law enforcement and communities in their efforts to rescue children and apprehend abusers. We are thankful for the tremendous generosity of our corporate sponsors, community partners, foundations, grants and donors for supporting our mission. Raising awareness is paramount to our continued growth and although funding is always a concern, our commitment to providing CPS Technology to officers free of charge remains steadfast. Law enforcement officers around the world will never receive a bill for our technology because all officers should have to worry about is rescuing children. In fact, our technology is responsible for the arrest of a pediatric oncologist, a gymnastics coach, a music teacher, guidance counselor and thousands of others who have flown under the radar for far too long. It’s sickening to know that these images and videos of children being sexually abused and exploited are being traded on the internet and even worse, the abuse doesn’t stop with just viewing the images or videos. Studies show that if a suspect is found with this type of material, they are more likely to be hands-on abusers.
Child Rescue Coalition tracks over one million unique pre-pubescent abuse image and video files currently traded on the Internet every day. Our presence is known and effective and we are grateful to our law enforcement partners for their dedication and continued support. Anyone interested in joining our mission are encouraged to reach out to their local, regional and state representatives, law enforcement agencies and local media and inform that they want our free CPS Technology working in their community. An additional opportunity to be part of the solution is to support our mission during the third annual “Eat, Drink and Be Giving” gala on Friday March 9, 2018 at the Delray Beach Marriott. This inspirational evening will feature Ashley Judd as our keynote speaker; we are thrilled to have such a brave and inspiring advocate to help us continue to raise the volume on the issue of abuse.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
Child Rescue Coalition (CRC), a South Florida-based nonprofit organization with global reach, has spent the past decade building the world’s most sophisticated technology to hunt online predators. Through proactive partnerships with law enforcement, the nonprofit’s system has tracked 54 million offenders around the world in order to protect children from sexual exploitation and abuse. Child Rescue Coalition is proud to provide innovative CPS Technology to law enforcement, free of charge, in order to access information about horrific abuse in their areas that they may not know even exists. What sets our nonprofit organization apart from others is the fact that we’ve created the first system that provides information about a crime before a victim comes forward. I’m proud of the hard work and dedication of our law enforcement partners and if the technology we provide to law enforcement leads to a single arrest or a child being rescued, then I would consider it to be a successful and worthy mission.
