  • January 3, 2026

A 53-year-old man from Sassari was arrested in Sardinia, Italy, after authorities discovered he was in possession of nearly 2,000 files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Four additional individuals from the provinces of Cagliari and Sassari have been charged in connection with the investigation.

The operation was led by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Cagliari and coordinated by the National Center for Online Child Pornography. Through close collaboration between CRC Technology and local law enforcement, investigators were able to identify individuals involved in sharing and downloading CSAM. The operation resulted in five searches across Sardinia and the seizure of more than 21 terabytes of digital data.
