Greg Schiller, Child Rescue Coalition’s, CEO Weighs In on a Rhode Island Man Accused of Grooming and Exploiting a Minor Through Online Gaming
- February 26, 2026
Child Rescue Coalition, CEO Greg Schiller is sharing important information following the extradition of a Rhode Island man to Florida on federal child exploitation charges, a case that underscores the rapidly evolving tactics predators are using to target children online.
Justin Adkins, 29, of West Warwick, Rhode Island, has been extradited to Florida and is facing 15 federal charges related to the alleged sexual exploitation of a minor. According to investigators, Adkins used online gaming platforms to initiate contact with a child, groomed the victim over time, and attempted to erase digital communications to conceal his actions. Authorities allege that Adkins:
- Purchased online digital currency for the child
- Bought the child a new phone to facilitate private communication
- Encouraged the production and sharing of child sexual abuse material (CSAM)
- Manipulated the child into believing they were in a “relationship”
When the child attempted to stop communication, investigators say the suspect escalated to extortion threats, coercing and blackmailing the victim in an effort to maintain control.
This pattern of grooming, manipulation, and coercion reflects what Child Rescue Coalition, CEO Greg Schiller has repeatedly warned about, most recently on Newsmax.
“We are at epidemic proportions of children being victimized online by predators across any number of platforms, websites, apps, it’s every where.”
Monitoring your child’s digital footprint is no longer optional, it is essential.
With the rise of AI technology and increasingly sophisticated grooming tactics:
- Know which platforms your child uses.
- Understand how private messaging works within gaming environments.
- Maintain open, judgment-free communication.
- Set clear digital safety boundaries.
- Regularly review privacy settings and contacts.
Predators rely on secrecy, speed, and shame. Awareness and proactive involvement are powerful tools to disrupt exploitation before it escalates.
