CRC Technology Helps Uncover Child Exploitation Case in Greenville

  • April 3, 2025

South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson announced the arrest of Steven Earl Dickert, 39, of Greenville, S.C., on three charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors. The arrest was made on April 1, 2025, by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, a member of the state’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

CRC Technology played a crucial role in the investigation by supplying the innovative technology—free of charge—that assisted law enforcement in identifying, apprehending, and prosecuting Dickert. The Attorney General’s Office, also a member of the ICAC Task Force, collaborated closely with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office throughout the case.

According to investigators, Dickert is accused of distributing explicit material involving minors. He now faces three counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, a felony that carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison per count.

The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.
