Child Rescued in Global Law Enforcement Operation – Child Rescue Coalition CEO, Greg Schiller Weighs In
- January 6, 2026
A far-reaching investigation led by the Port St. Lucie Police Department (PSLPD) has resulted in the arrest of an international offender and the rescue of a young girl who was allegedly being sexually abused.
The case began in mid-summer 2025 when detectives with the PSLPD Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit identified a suspect seeking to exchange child sexual abuse material and connect with other offenders online. The suspect, Adam Lea, a resident of the Republic of Cyprus, attempted to hide his identity using VPNs while communicating with an undercover PSLPD detective.
During those communications, Lea shared deeply disturbing statements and disclosed ongoing sexual abuse of a child over several years. Acting quickly, PSLPD partnered with U.S. Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in Athens and international law enforcement authorities, leading to a search warrant in Limassol, Cyprus, and the identification of the victim.
As a result of this coordinated effort, the child was located and is now safe. Lea was taken into custody by local authorities.
Greg Schiller, CEO of Child Rescue Coalition, shared the importance of prevention and early intervention:
“The science is still evolving on what motivates these offenders—whether it’s power, control, or opportunity. But regardless of the reason, we must do a better job identifying these individuals earlier so we can prevent them from committing these horrific crimes in the first place.”
Child Rescue Coalition applauds the relentless work of PSLPD, HSI, and their international partners, whose collaboration across more than 6,000 miles helped stop abuse and protect a child from further harm.
