Utilizing CRC Technology, Brazil Federal Police launched Operation “Praesidium” to combat crimes related to the sharing of child sexual abuse material over the internet in the western region of Santa Catarina. The issuance of a search and seizure warrant in Xanxerê/SC resulted in the arrest of a man for possessing and sharing this type of material. During the search, police seized computer equipment, cell phones and media storage. In a preliminary analysis at the scene, images and videos were found containing scenes of child sexual abuse. The suspect was arrested and will be charged with the crime of distributing child sexual abuse material and others listed in the Child and Adolescent Statute.
