Boynton Beach Police Launch Task Force to Stop Online Child Exploitation

  • January 10, 2026

The Boynton Beach Police Department has launched a Human Exploitation Task Force focused on stopping child predators online before they can harm children.

The unit, created in collaboration with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and Child Rescue Coalition, targets offenders who use the internet to groom, exploit, and traffic children. Law enforcement officials note that most child exploitation cases now begin online, making early intervention critical.

Since its formation, the task force has already worked 26 cases, underscoring the scope of the threat and the need for specialized teams.

“The majority of the human trafficking cases now, and child exploitation cases, begin online. So, our goal — and the chief’s goal with the unit — was to interdict prior to them victimizing children,” – said Detective Brent Joseph

Protecting children from online exploitation takes all of us. Learn how you can get involved, support law enforcement, and help create safer communities for children by partnering with Child Rescue Coalition. Together, we can stop predators before they harm a child.
