CRC on Expert Panel for Congressional Briefing

  • February 10, 2022

Child Rescue Coalition has a huge amount of experience in dealing with the digital evidence of the crimes committed when children are sexually abused. The recordings of this abuse produce child sexual abuse material or CSAM.

One important change proposed by the EARN IT ACT is something we’ve long called for. This legislation would finally call this crime what it really is – “child sexual abuse material”. The term “child pornography” will finally be replaced by more accurate terminology – CSAM.

Our COO Glen Pounder helped brief congressional representatives about this terrible crime as part of a panel of experts. He was followed by the mother of a survivor of this terrible abuse, and we encourage everyone to listen to her story.

This important bipartisan legislation doesn’t impact the privacy of anyone except child sexual abuse survivors – they need their privacy, and they need to know that the evidence of the crimes committed against them is not being freely traded online by criminals for their own gratification.
For more information about this law please see the recording made available by The National Center on Sexual Exploitation.
