Child Rescue Coalition Delivers First-Ever In-Country Training in Bulgaria

  • January 26, 2026

From January 12–16, 2026, Child Rescue Coalition delivered its first in-country training course in Bulgaria, marking a major milestone in the organization’s global mission to protect children.

Led by Child Rescue Coalition’s European Training and Support, Paul Bayer and Richard Matthews, the training was held in Sofia and equipped 15 agents from GDBOP, Bulgaria’s General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, with Child Rescue Coalition’s advanced technology and investigative techniques. While Bulgarian officers have participated in Child Rescue Coalition trainings abroad in previous years, this marked the first time the course was delivered inside the country.

Child Rescue Coalition was also joined by 7 Bulgarian prosecutors for a half-day briefing focused on CRC Technology and discussions on how to integrate these tools within Bulgaria’s legislative framework.

By bringing investigators and prosecutors together, Child Rescue Coalition continues to build sustainable, country-level capacity to identify victims, rescue children, and hold offenders accountable.
