CRC Technology Assisted Investigation Leads to 10-Year Sentence for Former Day-Care Worker

  • January 18, 2017

A former West Valley day-care worker was sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by lifetime probation and sex offender registration, after pleading guilty to two counts of child prostitution — a case aided by CRC Technology.

Child Rescue Coalition has trained law enforcement officers in all 50 U.S. states and in 106 countries around the globe use our technology to identify and apprehend predators who are most likely to sexually abuse children.

Lawrence Amaral, 74, was arrested in 2014 after detectives found child sexual abuse material on his computer at his home. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said Amaral shared hundreds of videos and images of children, ages 3 to 14.

Amaral and his wife had worked at a day-care center inside St. Louis the King Catholic Church in Glendale for over five years. He denied any physical abuse, but ultimately pleaded guilty to two counts related to sexual exploitation of a minor.

Judge John Rea cited Amaral’s clean criminal history and age as mitigating factors but imposed the 10-year sentence.

Thanks to CRC Technology, predators like Lawrence Amaral are being identified and brought to justice. But countless children are still at risk. Be a part of the impact! Every dollar makes a difference.
