Marvin Lee Mutch, a 68-year-old California man who spent over four decades in prison for the 1974 murder of 13-year-old Cassie Riley, has been arrested again, this time on charges related to child sexual abuse material. Most recently, CRC Technology played a pivotal role in identifying and arresting Mutch.

Mutch was released on parole in 2016 after consistently maintaining his innocence. He was taken into custody on May 22, 2025, in Vallejo, California, following an investigation that led to the seizure of multiple electronic devices. Authorities have charged him with possession of CSAM, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.
