Wasilla Man Arrested for Possessing Child Sexual Abuse Material in Online Sting Operation: CRC Technology Used in Investigation

In November 2022, the Alaska Bureau of Investigation (ABI) Technical Crime Unit with the aide of CRC Technology, launched an online investigation into child sexual abuse material (CSAM). During the investigation, authorities identified a user who was downloading and sharing CSAM files. The individual was later identified as 39-year-old Steven Manasco from Wasilla.
On December 16, 2024, Manasco was contacted by the ABI’s Mat-Su division, the Technical Crime Unit, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations. It was confirmed that he was in possession of CSAM files. Manasco was arrested without incident on five counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and was taken to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility, where he was held without bail.
