Operation Leafdown in Brazil to Combat Child Sexual Abuse

The Federal Police of Brazil launched Operation Leafdown on Tuesday, July 30, in the five regions of the country with the use of CRC Technology. The operation aims at combating crimes of storage and dissemination of child sexual abuse material.
Around 200 federal police officers carried out 40 search and seizure warrants in the states of Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraná, Piauí, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Sul, Rondônia, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
With great success 21 child offenders have been arrested and currently 1 minor has been rescued.
The name of the Operation refers to the investigative work of taking down users who obtain child and adolescent sexual abuse material and make these files available to other criminals worldwide.
The Federal Police warns parents and guardians about the importance of monitoring and guiding their children in the virtual and physical world, protecting them from the risks of sexual abuse. Prevention is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of children and adolescents.
