A child predator most likely looks just like you and me, and is probably already in your trusted circle. 90% of the time child predators are hiding in plain sight, and could be a family member, trusted friend, or have some tie to the family. And the statistics are staggering.

According to Phone Spectator:

  • 1 in 5 U.S. teens have received sexual solicitations online
  • 77% of children have been targeted by online predators
  • and perhaps, most shockingly, only 25% of children told their parents about being approached for online sexual favors.

If you notice any of these signs, please talk with your child and report the predator to your local authorities or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). They have  specific programs that are able to intake tips directly from individuals, and tips can be made by calling 1-800-THE-LOST (843-5678) or through their CyberTipline.
