- February 13, 2023
After a two month investigation, law enforcement officers in Costa Rica were able to identify a 20-year-old man and arrest him after determining he abused family members (ages 5, 8, 10, and 14). Child Rescue Coalition’s technology allowed the law enforcement officers to confirm this predator was also in possession of CSAM (child sexual abuse material).
After a search warrant, police were able to locate important evidence such as, 9 telephones, 5 computers, a hard drive, 3 USB devices, 2 tablets, 2 smart watches and other important evidence that helped to maintain his arrest while the forensics duties continued their investigation.
“The 20-year-old man would tutor minors to improve their school performance as a screen, with the purpose of sexually attacking them.”
“Sex offenders have different profiles and different motivations. Some seek power over the victim, others seek control, others for revenge, because in many cases they were also victims of abuse or even to reaffirm their sexuality”, explains Gutiérrez.
